Carved Oak

Carved Oak
Why does my new cut oak oiled plate has a diffuse surface?

I've used it once today to carve a joint of meat and after washing the surface of the board has soft fuzzy chips! It was a face seal and I can not believe this is only after one use. Are, or should take it back?

The first time you call the store where you got it and see what they advise. Use some fine sandpaper when the plate is dry to the arena chipped away. Get wet the table because it could be done while the size tends to increase the grain a little. Shale oil with oil of food safety after disposing of the chips, and you can even use sandpaper with oil to soften. You may have to do this a couple of times, but if the council will soon soften. Keep well-oiled plate for liquids can not so easily affected. If it appears that only a section that is a problem, and if it is not so tight a grain as the other sections, you may take it back. Edit: I reviewed a bit and found that red oak is not recommended for cutting boards because it has a loose grain, but other types of oak used.
